Secret Beaches and Coves in Ibiza

Secret Beaches and Coves in Ibiza

Life’s a beach! And I love exploring all of them in Ibiza.

There are so many popular beaches on the island, but today we’re going to talk about some of the lesser-known ones for you to discover on your next trip. Here are some of my favourites:

Es Portixol

I’ve discussed this spot in my list of Ibiza hikes to do in 2024, but I feel the need to mention it again! This secluded beach rewards the adventurous with its breathtaking vistas and serene waters. The journey to this cove is a hiker's delight - it’s challenging but oh-so rewarding!

Es Canaret

Hidden away in San Juan's scenic landscapes, Es Canaret is a secluded cove known for being perfectly pristine. Access to this spot is through a path on private land, but it is one of the most insta-worthy swimming spots on the island.

Ses Balandres

This one is for the thrill-seekers! This unique cove demands a daring descent using ladders and ropes, leading to an intimate beach. Its exclusivity and the journey's excitement make it an unforgettable Ibiza experience.

Cala Xarraca

A gem in Ibiza's northern coastline, Cala Xarraca is surrounded by lush forests and rocky terrains. This beach is famed for its natural beauty, rocky coves and a cute restaurant overlooking the water.

Cala Olivera

Cala Olivera in Ibiza is a serene beach nestled among lush pine forests and rocky cliffs, offering clear waters and tranquil surroundings for sunbathing, snorkelling, and - of course - relaxation. There’s even a little chiringuito selling drinks and snacks.

S’Estanyol

This is the perfect little cove if you love to snorkel. The water is always super clear and there’s lots of marine life to look at. Restaurante Cala Bonita is located there if you’re looking for amazing meat and seafood, or take a picnic for a full day out.

Punta Galera

You’ve probably seen pictures of this spot on social media. The flat stone sections draw in both sunbathers and yogis looking for a peaceful place for the day.

Na Coloms

Known as the Cave of Light, Na Coloms is a secret natural pool hidden within a cave just above sea level. Its secluded location and the magical interplay of light and water create a surreal swimming experience, making it one of Ibiza's most enchanting hidden treasures.

Alba + Rock Recommendation: use an experienced guide when hiking to the Cave of Light, especially if you plan to dive in.

Each of these secret spots in Ibiza offers a unique slice of paradise, hidden away from the bustling tourist spots, waiting to be discovered by those who seek the beauty of nature in its most tranquil and undisturbed form.

Which one will you choose first?
