Out of season eateries in Ibiza (restaurants for you to try)

During my time in Ibiza, I've had the pleasure of discovering some of the island's best-kept secrets, especially when it comes to dining. As the tourist crowds thin out for the year, there are some eateries that truly shine and are a must-visit for me whenever I am here during the winter.

Here are some of my top picks for restaurants that are open all year in Ibiza:

Can Mimosa

Santa Gertrudis

Tucked down a cute quiet lane in Santa Gertrudis, Can Mimosa is a 200-year-old farmhouse turned restaurant. The courtyard is bathed in sunshine throughout the cooler months and it’s the perfect spot for a tranquil, long lunch.

The menu, which changes weekly, includes fresh ingredients from their garden. They have a 3 course menu del dia (menu of the day) and their Sunday Roasts are absolutely legendary!

I definitely suggest booking, as it can get busy, especially over the weekend.

Read the menu and book online at canmimosaibiza.com.

La Escollera

Es Cavallet Beach

When winter comes, the usually bustling Es Cavallet beach transforms into a peaceful paradise. La Escollera, with its beautiful views of Formentera and Dalt Vila, really is the place to be.

As there are only a few restaurants open throughout winter in Ibiza, I will always advise to book in advance, especially if you’d like a seat outdoors, but the restaurant's spacious interior is just as inviting. The vibe down there on a winter’s weekend is really joyful, full of locals and residents enjoying some time in the sun.

Their traditional Mediterranean dishes, passed down through generations, now include vegan options. Their paella and sushi are top of my list for must-tries. Basically, it’s a place for great food, great wine, and even better company (depending on who you choose to take with you, of course!).

A Mi Manera

San Juan Road, Santa Eulalia

A Mi Manera is super-cosy and absolutely perfect for both group celebrations and date-night dinners. The restaurant's design is reminiscent of a traditional farmhouse and adds to its charm. Seated right by the garden, where they grow their own produce, makes you feel more involved in the culinary journey.

They're open for lunch and dinner on weekends, and in past years have had live music on Sundays. Watch out for their festive menus during Christmas season too!

Yemanja

Cala Jondal

Yemanja, with over 30 years under its belt, is an Ibiza institution. Nestled at Cala Jondal beach, it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy a long lunch, especially on a Sunday, which has become a bit of a tradition.

The menu is full of deliciousness, including paella, fresh fish and gorgeous salads.

Now part of the Blue Marlin Group, Yemanja is open all year round and I already can’t wait for my fix this winter.

In Ibiza, the off-season unveils a different kind of magic, especially in its culinary scene. I hope you enjoy these places as much as I do.
