Ibiza is known for its wild nightlife and breathtaking beaches, but it also boasts a unique and casual dining culture in the form of chiringuitos – beach bars or small restaurants offering local cuisine, fresh seafood, and refreshing drinks, all while you relax with the toes in the sand.
Here are a few of my favourites that you should not miss when you visit this beautiful island.
Cala Escondida
Tucked away on the west coast of Ibiza, Cala Escondida is a true hidden gem, living up to its name which literally translates to "hidden cove".
The cove is home to a small, 100% ecological chiringuito of the same, where you can grab a refreshing drink or a bite to eat and watch the sun go down with a view of the cove’s crystal-clear, azure waters - perfect for a refreshing dip!

Cala Bonita
Follow the dusty camino from Jesus and head to the secret beach of S’estanyol.
Cala Bonita is one of those hidden gems tucked away in a quiet, picturesque bay - a haven for those in search of a bit of tranquillity whilst here on the island.
The food is always top quality and the chef is just amazing! The whole concept is centred around a custom-built charcoal grill and the kitchen produces simple yet sophisticated dishes showcasing local produce and seafood.
El Bigotes
Tucked away in the serene Cala Mastella, El Bigotes is not just a chiringuito - it's an Ibiza institution. This humble yet famous beach shack is renowned for serving arguably the best traditional Fisherman's stew, or "Bullit de Peix", on the entire island.
With a view overlooking the crystal clear Mediterranean waters, El Bigotes serves freshly caught fish cooked on an open wood fire right before your eyes. It’s rustic and off-grid, the perfect authentic, memorable Ibizan experience.
Ibiza Insider Info: Remember, they don't accept cards, so be sure to take cash! And to secure a spot at one of their coveted lunchtime sittings, a telephone reservation is a must. There’s no social media or booking platform here!
So, there you have it! 3 of my favourite Ibiza chiringuitos. Which one will you visit first?
